Three Counties Spring Run 2023.
They say a change is as good as a rest, so for this years Spring Run a new starting point, a new finishing point and a new route was chosen and even after a cloudy, chilly start to the day the sun finally showed its face for a nice finish to proceedings.
Sunday morning arrived and after filling the Tiger 100 up with fuel it was a short (for me) 5 mile ride to the Willoughby café for our starting point for the Spring Run. There was half a dozen bikes already parked with owners inside having refreshments and come the 11 o`clock departure time the count was up to 17 bikes.
The Run started in Warwickshire and after a mile we were into Northants County visiting villages Kilsby and Crick onto Yelvertoft through Clay Coton and by the time we had left Stanford on Avon we were into Leicestershire visiting South Kilworth and onto Walcote where we had to make a unforseen detour due to the police closing the A4304.
An alternative route was quickly sort and skirting Lutterworth we made our way to Ullesthorpe via Bitteswell through Claybrooke Parva and finally onto the Denbigh Arms in Monks Kirby which was just opening its doors at midday for our arrival. A 30 mile run which caused quite a bit of good interest through some of the villages by the local residents and made it all the more enjoyable in the Spring sunshine.
